How to use EV Utility fairly so it stays free and useful for every Australian EV household.
A free service for everyone
EV Utility is free for Australian EV households. We want as many people as possible to charge when the grid is clean, so we keep the core grid signal open and available to all.
Reasonable personal use
EV Utility is intended for personal, household and small-fleet use. Please don't scrape, resell, or automatically harvest our grid data at high volume. If you'd like bulk or commercial access to the underlying data, get in touch and we'll talk about a partnership.
No guarantees on data
Our grid signals are based on the best available data from sources such as AEMO and the CleanCog API. We work hard to keep it accurate, but we can't guarantee it is always correct or up to date. Always use your own judgement before making charging or energy decisions.
Keep it fair
Don't use EV Utility for anything unlawful, don't attempt to disrupt the service, and don't misrepresent EV Utility data as official advice from energy market operators or retailers.
Changes to this policy
As EV Utility grows and adds premium features, we may update this fair use policy. We'll always aim to keep the free grid check available to Australian EV owners.
